Privacy Policy

The short version

ChordFocus does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data. Your songs, setlists, and settings stay on your device. We don't track you, we don't serve ads, and we don't sell data — because we don't have any.

What data stays on your device

All song data, setlists, BPM settings, and app preferences are stored in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device. If you clear your browser data, this information is deleted.

What happens when you purchase Pro

If you purchase a ChordFocus Pro subscription ($14.99/year), the payment is processed by Stripe. We receive your email address from Stripe to deliver your licence key. We store your email and licence key in a secure database (Supabase) for the sole purpose of licence validation.

We do not use your email for marketing unless you explicitly opt in. We will only email you to deliver your licence key and for essential account communications.

Cloud sync (Pro)

Pro users' song libraries and setlists are automatically backed up to our secure server (Supabase). This allows you to restore your library on a new device by entering your Pro licence code. Your song data is stored securely and is only accessible with your unique licence code. We do not read, analyse, or share your synced content.

Pro trial

The 7-day Pro trial does not require an email address or payment information. Trial status is stored locally on your device using a timestamp in your browser's local storage.

Sharing

When you use the Share feature, your song data is temporarily uploaded to our server to generate a short share link and QR code. This data is automatically deleted after the first download or within 24 hours, whichever comes first. We do not retain, read, or use shared content.

Users are responsible for ensuring they have the right to share any content they distribute via the Share feature.

Analytics and tracking

ChordFocus does not use any analytics, tracking pixels, cookies, or third-party scripts. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any similar service.

Third-party services

The only third-party services involved are:

• Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions
• Supabase — secure storage of licence keys and associated email addresses
• Mailgun — delivery of licence key emails
• Railway — hosting of the licence validation server

None of these services have access to your song data, setlists, or app usage.

Children's privacy

ChordFocus does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13. Since we collect no personal data during normal app usage, there is nothing to collect.

Data deletion

To delete all app data, use "Reset App Data" in the app menu. This clears all songs, setlists, and settings from your device. To request deletion of your licence key and email from our database, contact us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of ChordFocus after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
